William has been involved in a number of serious and complex cases both domestically and overseas in joint investigations at the Serious Fraud Office (“SFO”). William has worked on Mutual Legal Assistance and Proceeds of Crime at the SFO and has been instructed on pre-charge investigations and blockbuster cases. William continues to be involved in the investigation and prosecution work of the SFO.
William is a Kalisher Scholar and a Scholar of the Inner Temple. His pro bono work has been recognised in a joint Attorney-General’s award and in his appointment as a visiting fellow of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Program in International Human Rights Law.
William contributes to specialist chapters of the leading text book Rook and Ward on Sexual Offences, Law and Practice (4th Edn and Supplement (April 2014)) (Sweet & Maxwell).
In collaboration with the Legal Resources Centre in Ghana, William helped design and implement the training of Ghanaian law enforcement personnel on Human Trafficking law and practice, and upon request provided a précis of his work to a Criminal Justice Advisor to the Ghanaian government. William has worked with a joint Thai-international team in Thailand in a pro bono capacity and worked in a Thai women’s correctional institute.
William co-directs a charity with the object of the advancement of education in Tamale, Northern Ghana.
In practice William worked in all of chambers’ practice areas, including Civil and Commercial; Employment; Planning, Public and Environmental; Inquests; Crime; and Regulatory including Consumer law, Food Safety and Water law.
