Andrew was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn. He is an extremely experienced criminal practitioner. He is increasingly instructed as leading counsel. He prosecutes and defends. His practice includes cases of the utmost gravity including murder, attempted murder and manslaughter. He has prosecuted and defended in numerous rape cases and other cases involving serious sexual misconduct. He is regularly instructed to defend in large scale drugs importation cases and prosecutes complicated drug conspiracies. He has appeared for both sides in cases involving complex allegations of dishonesty involving very large sums of money. He also deals with allegations of serious violence falling just short of murder and offences of kidnapping. He has advised an off-shore bank about aspects of confiscation and regularly advises Jersey Advocates about all aspects of criminal law, both formally and informally. Prosecuted man who committed perjury case in which D hid substantial assets from creditors when seeking approval for IVA. R v I and others (2010). Defended allegation of commercial people smuggling. R v K, H and T (2010). Prosecuted case involving torture of young girl. R v A and 5 others (2009). Prosecuted, as leading counsel, trial of 6 people accused of conspiracy to kidnap. R v Rice and others (2007). Prosecuted as leading counsel, 6 handed conspiracy involving allegations of torture. One defendant was former UK body-building champion, main defendant on Crimestoppers list of Britain's Most Wanted on the Costa del Crime (having absconded while jury in retirement. Also: Defended teacher accused of selling drugs to his pupils at a public school. Prosecuted, as junior counsel, unconnected murder and manslaughter cases committed in the same house 6 months apart. Prosecuted, as junior counsel, large scale cross channel ferry cloned credit card faud involving complicated computer evidence. Appeared in, amongst other reported cases: R v Zelzele and others [2001] EWCA 1763, (2001) Crim LR 830. Instructed for D 1 in appeal against sentence and confiscation order. 30 year sentence reduced to 25 years R v Adenusi [2006] EWCA Crim 1059. Case on admissibility of bad character evidence.
