Changes to the development management processTweet
The session will cover the practical issues arising from recent changes to legislation, policies and procedures and the changing scope and nature of the development management process. It will provide practical guidance on how these changes will affect practitioners in their day-to-day work. As well as exploring changes over the last year, possible future changes to legislation will also be discussed.
William Upton will speak on the new Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017 including the transition from the EIA Regulations 2011; the imminent Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017; the run of Ashdown Forest showstopper cases; and air quality.
Frances Lawson will provide a legal and case law update and cover issues such as the NPPF and decision-taking; the scope of the “presumption in favour of sustainable development”; the status and relevance of draft neighbourhood development plans; and the duty to give reasons.
