Cruise ship emissions debate sets sail for High Court

In an interview for Lexis PSL, Christopher Badger considers a High Court challenge to plans for a wharf in the Thames that will be capable of accommodating very large ships, including cruise liners. In July 2015, Greenwich Council approved plans for a wharf in the Thames that would be able to handle 240 metre-long cruise liners carrying up to 1,800 passengers and 600 crew. These are currently being challenged in the High Court by local residents. Chris comments on the implications of the challenge and the effect that the greater use and the greater emissions generated by these larger vessels will have on air quality.
