Mock food allergy prosecution and sentence presented to the food industry

Stuart Jessop from chambers, has recently taken part in this mock prosecution involving a food allergen allegation at an event hosted by Blake Morgan LLP and Food Allergy Aware UK.

The event attracted over 60 delegates from market leaders in the food industry. It was aimed at making food business operators aware of the legal and practical risks of allergens in food they prepare and sell.

Stuart played the role of defence advocate for a company and its director faced with allegations under the Food Safety Act and Food Safety and Hygiene ( England) Regulations, whilst solicitors from Blake Morgan took the parts of Judge and prosecutor and others involved in the court process.
