Oliver Saxby QC Secures Acquittals in Sex Abuse Trial

September 29, 2016

A 73 year old man has been found not guilty of a string of historical sexual offences, including rape. The man faced 13 counts in all, and was convicted on just 3 counts of ‘touching’.

The man’s defence involved the careful cross-examination of four vulnerable complainants – all now adults, the revealing of various issues in their accounts and the presentation of a detailed case on the defendant’s behalf. The jury were in retirement over a number of days.
