‘Wind in the Willows’ Murder Trial Continues

October 10, 2016

The trial of Michael Danaher – charged with the murder of antiquarian book seller Adrian Greenwood – continues at Oxford Crown Court. On Friday, the jury was shown the book the defendant had taken from Adrian Greenwood’s house on Iffley Rd – a first edition of Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’, dated 1908, valued at £50,000. The Court has heard that the defendant’s laptop was used to search for details of the homes of a number of celebrities including Alan Sugar, Gary Lineker, Katie Hopkins, Rio Ferdinand, Simon Cowell, Eamonn Holmes and Michael Parkinson. On Monday the Crown will be calling evidence relating to blood distribution found at the address; and on Tuesday, the Court will hear evidence from the Crown’s pathologist, Dr Hunt, dealing with the injuries sustained by Adrian Greenwood.

The prosecution is being led by Oliver Saxby QC, instructed by Thames and Chiltern CPS.
