Cafe restaurant gets premises licence in CIZ

Stuart Jessop has successfully represented Church Lane Enterprises Ltd in its application for a premises license at 34 Church Lane, Leyton despite fierce opposition from councillors from the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The application was for a cafe restaurant serving alcohol in a mixed residential and commercial area regulated by a Special Policy. The policy had created a cumulative impact zone which created a rebuttable presumption that any new application would be refused. Stuart was able to persuade the Police and Licensing Authority to withdraw their representations and then persuade the Licensing Sub-Committee that the application promoted the licensing objectives.
