Conviction in Miss England wounding

27 year old woman, China Gold, was today convicted of the unlawful wounding of a former Miss England finalist, Olivia Cooke, aged 22. The Crown alleged that Ms Gold grabbed Ms Cooke by the throat, used a glass to hit her on the side of her head, and once that glass had broken, struck Ms Cooke again with broken glass. This caused 2 significant wounds to Ms Cooke’s face leaving her scarred. Evidence involved eye-witness evidence and medical evidence. After a four day trial, the jury at Maidstone Crown Court found Ms Gold guilty in less than one hour. She will be sentenced next month.
