David Travers QC to participate in the Lex Anglo-Brasil / Bar Council Moot for the Brazilian Judges’ Association (AMB) International Congress

Lex Anglo-Brasil, together with the Bar Council of England and Wales, will be holding a Moot Night, as part of the Brazilian Judges’ Association (AMB) Second International Congress on 24 May. The event will be attended by the some of the 200 judges visiting the UK for the week-long event.

The Moot involves an application to commit for contempt a financier for breach of a worldwide freezing order. The event will take place in the Parliament Chamber of the Inner Temple, followed by a drinks reception in the Luncheon Room.

Edward Jenkins QC leading Frederico Singarajah represents the applicant and David Travers QC leading Alex Haines represents the financier. Nicholas Lavender QC, former chair of the Bar Council is to be the judge and Amanda Pinto QC, Chair of the International Committee, will make the opening remarks.
