Gotcha? The when, why and how of prosecuting individual directors and employees of businesses

September 21, 2021

David Travers QC and Laura Phillips will present a masterclass event at the CTSI Symposium next week.

The masterclass, entitled  ‘Gotcha? The when, why and how of prosecuting individual directors and employees of businesses‘, will take place on Wednesday 29th September and will provide practical advice to those dealing with breaches of trading standards and consumer protection laws as to when, why and how to investigate and prosecute the individuals really responsible for the wrongdoing.

Advances in technology and an increase in online business have many benefits for consumers, but also offer new opportunities for unscrupulous individuals to profit at their expense. Vulnerable consumers are disproportionately affected. Enforcement action against, or prosecution of, corporations is often not an effective means of dealing with the individuals who are responsible for the damage suffered by consumers.

This masterclass will help delegates use the enforcement tools available effectively.

This year the CTSI Symposium is taking place from 28th to 30th September 2021 in Birmingham. You can find out more here
