International arbitration and climate change webinar

February 9, 2021

In this masterclass webinar hosted last week by Six Pump Court Chambers, environmental law and arbitration specialists Stephen Hockman QC, Paul McGarry SC, Steven Walker QC and Christopher Badger discussed the key trends and issues in climate change litigation and the likely impact of those developments on international arbitration.

Topics included institutional support for arbitration of environmental disputes and whether arbitration is an appropriate venue for the resolution of such disputes. They also discussed Investment Treaty protections and how investments might be structured in order to take advantage of such protections, as well as how those investment protections might be considered a barrier to, or an enabler of, decarbonisation. key trends and issues in climate change litigation and the likely impact of those developments on international arbitration.
