John FitzGerald secures acquittal in gun running case

The defendant was a serving prisoner having been sentenced to an I.P.P. for attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The defendant was a senior member of Birmingham gang, the “Johnson Crew”. The defendant was accused of being the top of a conspiracy to supply a prohibited weapon and 80 rounds of live ammunition from West London to Birmingham, which he was alleged to have orchestrated from his cell.

The case revolved around complex mobile phone analysis. Five had pleaded guilty, including the only two that the defendant was alleged to have been in contact with.

The trial was heard at Kingston Crown Court. John was instructed by ESN Solicitors
