The trial of PA, a 40 year old married man of previous good character charged with two counts of rape, continues into its second week at Guildford Crown Court. The Crown allege that in June 2015 PA raped a 24 year old woman who he had picked up in Ascot, following a days’ racing. The woman had been at Ladies’ Day with friends and had gone on to remain in Ascot through the evening. Later, at around 11pm, PA – a taxi driver by occupation – had stopped and agreed to give her a lift. The Crown allege that she fell asleep in his car to find herself being raped by PA.

Oliver Saxby QC is privately instructed by criminal specialist Irfan Arif of Knightsbridge firm Appleby Shaw.
