Residents represented by Stuart Jessop successful in their restaurant premises licence review

November 23, 2016

Stuart Jessop has successfully represented a group of residents in their Review of the premises licence of a restaurant in Southwark.

The Licensing Sub-committee heard evidence from the residents, about the level of public nuisance, who described the noise from patrons of the restaurant and from tables and chairs being moved as being so loud that it interfered with their sleep. Stuart submitted, on behalf of the residents, that conditions should be added to the licence in order to promote the licensing objective of Preventing Public Nuisance. The Sub-committee decided to add conditions to the licence preventing various activities between certain periods of time.
