Tower Hamlets mayor Luftar Rahman found guilty of illegal and corrupt election practices by Election Court

Richard Mawrey, Election Commissioner, has upheld allegations of corrupt and illegal practices made by four voters against the Tower Hamlets mayor Mr Rahman and councillor Mr Choudhury. The election has been declared void.

The offences included voting fraud (double cast votes and votes from false addresses); false statements about an opponent; bribery; treating; and spiritual influence.

Mukhtiar Singh was instructed by the Metropolitan Police Service.
