Costs and Human Rights

The third hearing in Coventry v Lawrence on the potential incompatibility of the costs regime with human rights is due to be heard on 9, 10 and 11 February 2015 in the Supreme Court , and will convene as a court of seven justices.

Stephen Hockman QC and William Upton continue to act for Ms Lawrence and Mr Shields.

There are now eight other parties that have asked to intervene: The Secretary of State for Justice, the Attorney General for Northern Ireland, the Law Society, the Bar Council, The Association of Business Recovery Professionals, the Asbestos Victims Support Group, the Media Lawyers Association and the Association of Costs Lawyers.
